Stephanie Hall has been a mainstay in the Dallas GLBT law community for over 25 years. Ms. Hall received her law degree from SMU and was admitted to practice in Texas in 1986. She practices primarily in the areas of family law and probate. Ms. Hall focuses her family law practice on child custody cases, non-marital cohabitation property divisions and family disputes and private adoptions. The majority of probate practice focuses on estate planning for non taxable estates as well as guardianships and general probate.
Prior to earning her law degree, Ms. Hall earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and later a Masters degree in Psychology, both of which she applies to her law practice to shepherd her clients through what is more often than not an emotionally charged and psychologically taxing time.
Ms. Hall is known for her passion, forthrightness, honesty and integrity by her peers and judges alike. She says while it may sound sappy she really does enjoy helping people and it shows. One of her clients said “I did truly value her service; she not only gave me fair, cost effective legal counsel and representation, but she also gave me good, sound, matter of the heart advise; reminding me to do the right thing – not the emotional thing.” Another client said: “No small question was unimportant. She replied to all my emails promptly. She was honest and detail oriented. Not one thing was overlooked. She is very knowledgeable and knows what she is doing. I would recommend her to anyone. Even after the divorce, she continued to answer a few questions I had.”
In her off time, she likes to spend time outside, fishing, hiking, and riding her 1973 BMW motorcycle. She has been in a relationship with her partner since a canoe trip down the Brazos River 33 years ago. Ms. Hall’s favorite food is pizza and one of her dreams is to travel to Hawaii.
She is active in providing pro bono legal services to those in need, she has been a director of the Dallas Women’s Bar Association, a board member of the Irving League of Women’s Voters, and is the past President of “Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers.” She is currently serving as the Secretary of the LGBT Section of the Texas State Bar.
